I have been doing volunteer mentoring for new info-entrepreneurs for years through AIIP's volunteer mentoring program, and found it very rewarding. Then, a few months ago, Mark Evans (Bancroft Research Group) called me out of the blue and asked whether I'd be interested in setting up a formal coaching relationship. He and I have both found it enormously rewarding, and then several friends (both Marcy Phelps of Phelps Research, and my partner Lin) suggested that I consider doing this for other people as well.
I believe I have a real gift for coaching people - both new info pros and those who have been in business for 5 or 6 years. I really enjoy it, and I've had nothing but good feedback. So, I'll see how enthusiastically this new venture is received.
